Child Development Associate Credential Training Program
NEXT SESSION BEGINS SOON!
This 16 week program covers the eight CDA Subject Areas. There are twice-weekly live, 2-hour online class sessions led by your instructor. This is supplemented by course content, discussion boards, and assignments on the easy-to-use Canvas learning platform. A variety of guest speakers visit our classes with timely and important information on such topics as child abuse, Autism, infectious diseases, and child nutrition. Students have access to a rich variety of resources they can use in their programs, as they work with young children and their families.
Each lesson is based on the Essentials for Working with Young Children (3rd edition) textbook (Council for Professional Recognition), as well as multiple other resources and the most current research.
This program covers well over the required 120 clock hours of training. It also includes intensive support in completing the Professional Portfolio (including the 6 Competency Statements, the Professional Philosophy, and the Resource Collection). Students will also be prepared for the CDA Exam and the Verification Visit (which includes the formal observation and Reflective Dialogue by a CDA Professional Development Specialist).
